The Lansdowne Farmers market returns in...

So here it is – the revamped Lansdowne Farmers market website! Along with the weekly Market e-newsletter, this should give you all the information you'll need to take advantage of the great thing that descends on the borough every Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Come out to the first Market of the year and meet our new Market Manager, Rick Grocott, who will be putting a consistent face on the event. Rick will be familiar to many of you from his previous business as a plumbing and heating contractor and proprietor of the Grey Dog Fireplace Store. If not from those ventures, you'll probably recognize him from mornings at the Regency Café, where his is a semi-regular. Stop by to give him your best and share any ideas you have for improving the Market. We always want to hear them.

If you come to the May 24th Market, you may notice that we have new signs, thanks to a Pennsylvania farmers market grant we secured (thank Main Street Manager Gary Chilutti for that), as well as new pop-up tents. More importantly, we have some new vendors! Joining us from Clifton Heights is meat, poultry, and produce purveryor Dean Greene. He'll be bringing frozen, shrinkwrapped product in a refrigerated truck for your enjoyment and safety. Also new is The Ideal Hand Laundry, a soap and bath salts shop that made its first Market appears last year as an Artist of the Week. Proprietors Heather and David Prince would love to meet you. Locavores will be glad to know that Farm Fresh Express is expanding its Market presence and will be bringing more items, including diary and meat products. Even at this late date, there's a possibility of more new vendors, so stay tuned!

Sign up for our weekly e-newsletter and find out each Thursday what to look for at the Market on Saturday.
